EAST CATCHES HAGEN ON LAP 99 TO WIN AT ANDERSON
Anderson, IN…….Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. became the winningest USAC driver in Anderson Speedway history Sunday, taking the lead from Darren Hagen on the white-flag lap and holding on for a 100-lap USAC Mopar National Midget series victory. East trailed Hagen for 98 laps in his Klatt Enterprises Ford Racing Beast, then made the winning move to beat Hagen, Dave Darland, Cale Conley and Tracy Hines to the checkered flag. Jerry Coons Jr. was Sunday’s fastest qualifier but failed to finish the 100-lapper. East also took the series point lead as a result of his victory.
