CLAUSON’S 110TH VICTORY TIES DARLAND FOR 5TH ALL-TIME ON USAC WIN LIST

As Bryan Clauson’s win tally in 2016 keeps growing and growing, his already remarkable season continues to set records of a historical nature.

Clauson’s USAC National Midget victory last Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas was the 110th USAC-sanctioned win of his illustrious career, tying him with Dave Darland for fifth on the all-time list.

The 27-year-old Noblesville, Indiana native is the fastest driver to reach that mark, by far, and now trails only Rich Vogler (171), A.J. Foyt (162), Sleepy Tripp (161) and Mel Kenyon (131) in career USAC victories.

Clauson crossed the century mark for USAC wins back on January 29 of this season, garnering him his 100th series victory during a Southwest/West Coast Sprint Car event at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona.

Clauson recently recorded his 40th career USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car feature triumph at Port Royal (Penn.) Speedway, tying him with Gary Bettenhausen for seventh all-time on the Sprint wins’ list.  His victory last Saturday night was his 37th in USAC’s National Midget division where he also stands seventh in all-time wins.

In 2016, Clauson has already racked up 13 USAC feature victories, putting him at more than halfway to J.J. Yeley’s record mark of 24 in 2003.

Clauson, the 7-time USAC champ, is next scheduled to compete in a USAC event on Wednesday, June 29 at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway when the Indiana Midget Championship heads to the northern Indiana dirt track for the first of three “Hump Day Summer Series” events at the track during the summer featuring the series.  Clauson was victorious in the Indiana Midget Championship season opener at Plymouth on May 13.
