PICKENS EXTENDS POINT LEAD AT THE CROSSED FLAGS OF INDIANA MIDGET WEEK

A second-straight victory Thursday night at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. has extended Michael Pickens’ Indiana Midget Week lead to 31 over Brady Bacon at the halfway point of the series with three races down and three races remaining this weekend: Friday at Bloomington Speedway, Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway and Sunday at Kokomo Speedway.

In addition to his two victories at Gas City and Lincoln Park, the Auckland, New Zealand resident finished in the runner-up spot on opening night at Montpelier Motor Speedway, an impressive mark of consistency that no one else has replicated.

USAC National Midget point leader Brady Bacon remains in second, but drops to 31 behind Pickens.  Spencer Bayston’s heartbreaking defeat turned out to be a good night points-wise, at least, moving from fifth to third.  Shane Golobic and Rico Abreu are tied for the fourth spot.
