Granite City, Illinois (May 14, 2019)………Brady Bacon will return to a familiar seat this weekend at Tri-City Speedway as he climbs back aboard the FMR Racing team car for the USAC NOS Energy Drink portion of the Brandt “River Town Showdown” Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, at the 3/8-mile dirt oval in Granite City, Ill.

Bacon will team with full-time driver C.J. Leary at the event in a second car.  Bacon won six USAC Midget races with FMR between 2016 and 2018 before stepping back from full-time midget racing.  Among his major wins for FMR include the 2016 “Jason Leffler Memorial” at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, Ill., a sweep of the “Kokomo Grand Prix” at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway in 2017 and the inaugural “BC39” at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2018.

The Broken Arrow, Okla. native will pull double-duty by competing in both the midget and the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car events both nights at the “River Town Showdown.”  The two-time USAC Sprint champion was victorious in the Sprint Car at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway in April of this season.  He’s made one USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget start in 2019, an 18th place result indoors at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin back in March at the “Shamrock Classic.”

Tri-City Speedway was the sight of one of Bacon’s most memorable moments in the FMR midget during the 2016 season, recovering from a hard lap nine feature flip into the turn one catchfence, then restarting and driving back to a fourth-place result.

The “River Town Showdown” features complete shows for the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship, USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and B-Mods on consecutive nights, May 17-18, on the 3/8-mile Tri-City Speedway dirt oval in Granite City, Ill.

Registration and pit gates open at 3pm (Central).  Grandstands and ticket office open at 5pm.  Cars on track at 6:30pm.

Adult general admission tickets are $25 while children 12 and under are FREE.  Pit passes are $30 apiece for members and $35 for non-members.
