USAC AMSOIL SPRINT CAR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

Formats may be altered from base formats listed here at the discretion of the chief steward

QUALIFYING RACES: Lineup determined by points accumulated on first two nights of “Smackdown.” 4 Qualifying Races: 10 laps. Top-2 transfer to feature. Finishers 3-6 transfer to the semi-feature. Finishers 7-10 transfer to the C-Main.

“KING OF THE HILL” 2-CAR SHOOTOUT: Top 8 in points accumulated on first two nights of “Smackdown” are locked into the final night’s feature. The first four rows of the final night’s feature will be determined by single-elimination, multiple-round, two-car, three-lap races.

Seeds 1-8 are based on total driver points from the previous nights.  Round 1: 1 vs. 8, 4 vs. 5, 3 vs. 6 and 2 vs. 7. Winners of each race in round one advance to the semifinal round in the bracket.  Semifinal round winners advance to the championship round.  The winner of the final round earns the choice of starting on the inside or outside of the front row.

The second-place finisher in the final round will start on the front row of the feature alongside the King of the Hill winner.  Spots 3-4 will be occupied by semifinal round drivers who were defeated (higher seed on the inside, lower seed on the outside).  Spots 5-8 will be occupied by drivers defeated in the first round (lined up in rows 3-4 with highest seed in position 5 and lowest seed in position 8).

C-MAIN:

Finishers 7-10 in the qualifying races will line up in the C-Main in order of where they finished in the qualifying race (7th place finishers at the front, etc.).  10 laps. Top-4 finishers will transfer to the last two rows of the semi-feature based on their finishing order in the C-Main.
