WINDOM CAPTURES SMACKDOWN IX PROSOURCE PASSING MASTER TITLE
Kokomo, Indiana (August 29, 2020)………Chris Windom captured the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Smackdown IX ProSource Passing Master standings this past weekend at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.
Windom (Canton, Ill.) advanced a total of 22 positions during the feature events throughout the weekend. The 2016 USAC Silver Crown and 2017 USAC National Sprint champ advanced from 21st to 8th in Thursday’s Smackdown opening night feature, then proceeded to march from 9th to 2nd in Friday’s main event and 8th to 6th in Saturday’s finale to score a total of 22 points throughout the weekend.
The two-time USAC National champion also leads the overall, yearlong ProSource Passing Master points with 121 total positions advanced throughout USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car, NOS Energy Drink National Midget and Silver Crown competition in 2020.
Tyler Thomas (Collinsville, Okla.) finished 2nd behind Windom with 16 positions advanced while Brady Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) advanced 10. The winner of the first two nights of Smackdown IX, Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.) passed nine as did Saturday’s winner Tyler Courtney (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Justin Grant (Ione, Calif.).
ProSource posted the $500 Passing Master reward for competitors during this week's Sprint Car Smackdown IX, which went to the driver who advanced the most total positions in the three feature events throughout Smackdown.
