USAC .25 Midget Program Welcomes Huntsville

Huntsville Latest Club to Join Growing USAC .25 Program
(Indianapolis) – The United States Auto Club is pleased to welcome the Huntsville, Alabama Club to the growing number of .25 sanctioned tracks.   Located on the South East side of Huntsville, the club began racing at their new facility in 2005.  The concrete surface is banked and many say it is extremely fast!   “We were excited to be able to host one race of the USAC ‘Dixie Shootout’ Series so that our drivers could race closer to home but still experience different tracks,” said Club President Chuck Carver.   “We tried to dual charter with the organizations but that was complicated.  We bid for the Grands and won the award to host the 2015 Eastern Grands, but have respectfully declined that offer.”   Club Officials say they were recently asked to remove the USAC verbage from their website schedule.  At the Club banquet, members voted to choose USAC as their sanctioning body for 2014 and cut all ties with the competing organization.  “We have kinda been out on this island without any other tracks down here,” continued Carver.   “Our club and our drivers are what is most important to us, so we believe that joining USAC will be most beneficial for us.  We like the fact that if we have questions, we can pick up the phone and make the call to the USAC Office and we have the information we need.”    “This puts together a great southern series within our sanctioning body so that members can race together.  North Carolina, Nashville, Atlanta, North Georgia, and Huntsville will now all race under the USAC Banner,” said USAC Director, Kyle McCain.    The first club race of the season for Huntsville will be March 22, 2014.  The club uses transponders at events and registration is $35 per car.  Plans are in the making to again host the annual Turkey Gobbler event over the Thanksgiving Holiday, November 27-29.    For more information about Huntsville log on to http://www.hqma.org   Huntsville Club  4275 Ea Schrimsher Lane SW Huntsville, AL  35805 Club President – Chuck Carver (256) 683-7981
