SHELTON MOVES TO THE TOP OF THE B AND W PERSEVERANCE STANDINGS AFTER PUTNAMVILLE

Holly Shelton has moved into the lead of B & W Auto Mart’s end-of-the week perseverance prize for Indiana Midget Week in honor of the late USAC .25 Midget Series Director, Kyle McCain.

Shelton, of Sacramento, California, qualified 30th and finished 14th in Thursday night’s Indiana Midget Week event at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, gaining 16 points to vault her into the lead of the B & W standings with three races remaining: Friday at Bloomington Speedway, Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway and Sunday at Kokomo Speedway.

Points are awarded to the driver advancing the most positions during each night's feature from their original qualifying time. At the conclusion of the Indiana Midget Week finale Sunday, June 11 at Kokomo Speedway, the points will be tabulated and the driver with the most total points will earn the reward.

On the opening night at Montpelier Motor Speedway, Shane Golobic and Tanner Carrick each earned 11 points.  Golobic qualified 17th and finished 6th while Carrick qualified 23rd and finished 12th.

Wednesday night saw Oklahoma’s Chance Morton score 15 points with his 24th place finish following a 39th place qualifying run.   Morton was running as high as 12th in the feature when he flipped on the 19th lap of the 30-lap event.
