Several American Midget drivers competed in the recent international events in New Zealand.

Kyle Larson scored his 3rd “World 30-Lap Derby” triumph Sunday at Auckland’s Western Springs Speedway, beating Christopher Bell and Michael Pickens to the checkered flag. Zach Daum took fourth ahead of Brad Mosen, Logan Seavey and Tyler Courtney.

On Friday night, Pickens picked up the Midget feature victory at Baypark Family Speedway in Mt. Maunganui, New Zealand. USAC’s Chris Windom finished second ahead of Courtney. Larson was fifth and Daum sixth. Bell led many laps but had tire problems near the end.

Wednesday night was “Boxing Day” at Auckland’s Western Springs Speedway as Pickens won the main event over Larson, Seavey, Bell and Daum. Courtney was ninth as Windom encountered problems in his heat and did not start the main. Bell won an accompanying Sprint car feature.
