Speedway, Indiana (September 2, 2020)………The lone driver to stand inside the top-five of all three USAC National division’s standings entering the month of September is Chris Windom.

As such, the Canton, Ill. driver leads the Mike Curb Super License standings coming into this weekend’s USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget doubleheader at Missouri’s Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex this Friday and Saturday, September 4-5.

Windom leads the Midget standings, is 2nd in USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car points and resides 5th in the Silver Crown tally and has, thus far, accumulated 2,463 combined points between the three series.

Windom enjoys a 470-point lead over his closet competitor in the Super License standings, 2017 champ Justin Grant of Ione, Calif., at 1,993.  Two-time Super License champion Tyler Courtney (Indianapolis, Ind.) is 3rd at 1,553 with Kevin Thomas Jr. (Cullman, Ala.) 4th at 1,499 and 2016 titlist Brady Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) 5th 1,442.

This is the 22nd year for the Mike Curb Super License, which will pay a $5,000 reward and a USAC Super License worth $900 to the driver who finishes with the most combined points combined with the three series.

Previous Super License/USAC National Driver Championship titlists include Dave Darland (1999 & 2015), Tracy Hines (2000-2008-2013-2014), J.J. Yeley (2001-2002-2003), Jay Drake (2004), Josh Wise (2005-2006), Jerry Coons Jr. (2007), Cole Whitt (2009), Bryan Clauson (2010-2011-2012), Brady Bacon (2016), Justin Grant (2017) and Tyler Courtney (2018-2019)

Pits open for this Friday and Saturday’s races at Sweet Springs, Mo. each night at 3pm ET with grandstands opening at 4pm, the drivers meeting set for 6pm and hot laps at 6:30pm.  Tickets are $20 for adults with pit passes $35 apiece.  Two-night tickets are now on sale at www.usactickets.com.  Order early and you’ll receive a free USAC Midget T-shirt.  Outlaw Micros are also on the event card both nights.
