Speedway, Indiana (December 16, 2021)………Jason McDougal will take on all five dirt races during the 2022 USAC Silver Crown National Championship season for Indianapolis, Indiana’s Daigh-Phillips Motorsports.

It’s a reunion between driver and team after McDougal previously competed for the Daigh-Phillips team in 2018-2019, winning twice in USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship competition with the team’s sprint car and turning in a spectacular drive for the team during the 2019 Hoosier Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, charging from 25th to 6th.

Phillips fielded suggestions for 57 different drivers from fans, dads, wives, and mom’s regarding who they’d like to see in the No. 27 for 2022.  After consideration, it was decided the Broken Arrow, Okla. native will be back in the seat for 2022.

“I’ve always enjoyed racing with Steve and Carla (Phillips); and I’m ready to do it again,” McDougal exclaimed when receiving word of the news.

McDougal has made nine career USAC Silver Crown starts, but only one for Phillips.  McDougal made six series starts in 2021 for Klatt Enterprises with his best performance coming at Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway, starting from the pole and finishing 6th.  He finished a career best 4th in 2018 at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway for car owner Chris Dyson.

McDougal and Phillips will team up for all five 2022 dirt USAC Silver Crown races, starting May 1 at Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track, then June 18 at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway, on August 20 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, on September 3rd at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in southern Illinois, and on September 23-24 at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.
