USAC .25 Midget Western Regional Series Race Champions will be Honored and a Charity will be the Benefactor

(Indianapolis) – The USAC .25 Midget Western Regional Series shares the spotlight with the opener for the 2014 “Generation Next” National Series March 28th-29th at the Orange Show Club in San Bernardino, CA.  The Easter Seals Midwest Organization will be the benefactor, as winners of the main events will be checkered with a blue and white checked flag when they cross the finish line at all 3 Western Regional events.

What better way to encourage the youngest USAC drivers than to honor their accomplishments, while also teaching them about helping others less fortunate than themselves?  “That’s just one more phase that our USAC .25 Midget Program offers our young drivers,” said Director, Kyle McCain.  “We are interested in building well-rounded champions and youngsters for their future, whatever that may be.   Being a champion shouldn't be just about carrying the checkered flag, it’s about who you become as a person with that success.”

The month of April is designated as National Autism Awareness Month.  This ‘hits home’ for Aaron Likens, the official USAC .25 Midget series flagman.  At the age of 20, Aaron was diagnosed with Asperger’s, a for of autism.  Since then, his career and passion has been spending time building awareness for Asperger’s Syndrome.

Aaron will be providing a blue and white-checkered flag for each .25 Western Regional event, sponsored by AutoNation.  This will include round 1, .25 Midget Western World, round 2, AutoNation - Valley of the Sun “Spring Shoot Out” in Phoenix, April 4-6 and the .25 Midget Lone Star Grand Prix in San Antonio, April 25-27.

All participants may purchase raffle tickets for $5 each or 5 for $20.  Main event winners will sign the flag and one lucky family will take home a piece of USAC .25 Midget history.  Winners need not be present to win.  Tickets will be sold at Sign In.  Proceeds will go directly to Easter Seals Midwest – ESMW.org.  “These funds will further the ability to raise awareness and understanding for the Autism Spectrum, be it through parent training, sibling support groups, and training programs for police officers.  With the rate of Autism at 1 in 88 the need is great,” said Likens.
