SHELTON LEADS B & W PERSEVERANCE STANDINGS INTO KOKOMO FINALE

Heading into Sunday’s final round of 2017 Indiana Midget Week, Sacramento, California’s Holly Shelton stays at the forefront as the point leader for B & W Auto Mart’s Indiana Midget Week Perseverance prize in honor of late USAC .25 Midget Series Director, Kyle McCain.

Shelton gained three additional points Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway after qualifying 6th and finishing 3rd.  With his run from 16th to 4th at Lawrenceburg, Shane Golobic moved to second, five points out of the lead.  Tyler Courtney is eight points back, Chad Boat is ninth and Jerry Coons, Jr. fifth.  Boat (15 points) and Courtney (12) were the biggest movers at Lawrenceburg.

Points are awarded to the driver advancing the most positions during each night's feature from their original qualifying time. At the conclusion of the Indiana Midget Week finale Sunday, June 11 at Kokomo Speedway, the points will be tabulated and the driver with the most total points will earn the reward.

On the opening night at Montpelier Motor Speedway, Shane Golobic and Tanner Carrick each earned 11 points.  Golobic qualified 17th and finished 6th while Carrick qualified 23rd and finished 12th.

Wednesday night saw Oklahoma’s Chance Morton score 15 points with his 24th place finish following a 39th place qualifying run.   Morton was running as high as 12th in the feature when he flipped on the 19th lap of the 30-lap event.

At Putnamville’s Lincoln Park Speedway on Friday, Courtney tallied 22 points by finishing third after a 25th place qualifying run.
