BILL HILL PASSES AT 87

The auto racing fraternity lost one of its most ardent supporters today with the death of Bill Hill at age 87 in North Little Rock, Ark. Hill, who served a short stint as USAC's National Midget Series publicity representative in the early 1970s, was one of the sport's most meticulous historians. He officiated a myriad of events, served as chief announcer at numerous racing facilities, worked in motorsports insurance, and as a Denver-area motorsports authority, had published motorsports chronicles. His involvement in the sport was as extensive as anyone in history and in 1995 he was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and he was also a member of the National Midget Hall of Fame. In 2007 he was inducted into the Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame. USAC extends its condolences to his wife Ruby and his many, many auto racing friends.
