1991 SILVER CROWN OWNER CHAMP FRED EDE, 84
Fred Ede, whose M & L Plumbing car propelled Jeff Gordon to the 1991 USAC Silver Crown Championship for both, passed away January 3 in Fresno, Calif. at age 84. During Ede's long tenure as a USAC car owner, he scored seven Silver Crown wins with drivers Gordon, 1999 series Champion Ryan Newman, Ron Shuman and Kenny Irwin Jr. We extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
