TWO SILVER CROWN RACES SLATED FOR LOR’S 2021 SCHEDULE

Brownsburg, Ind. (July 7, 2020)………A number of major open wheel racing events have been slated for the 2021 racing season at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Ind., highlighted by a pair of USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series events in May and July.

The schedule will kick off with the return of the Carb Night Classic on Friday, May 28 featuring the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series, Midgets the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires.

That event will be followed by a new and exciting event scheduled for June 17. Thursday Night Thunder Homecoming will feature Sprint Cars and Midgets anchoring the schedule.

Finally, the Hoosier Classic will take place during the Brickyard 400 weekend in July of 2021 with Sprint Cars and Midgets on Friday followed by the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series on Saturday.

“We are excited to be able to announce our 2021 schedule for the Oval at Lucas Oil Raceway to give fans, teams, and drivers plenty of time to plan their travels and preparations for 2021,” said Lucas Oil Raceway General Manager Kasey Coler. “This year, we were fortunate enough to reintroduce the Night Before the 500 on Saturday, August 22 with the return of Pavement Sprint Cars and Midgets to Lucas Oil Raceway and this schedule announcement allows us to build off that momentum.”

 

Carb Night Classic (Friday, May 28, 2021)

Featuring four great racing series on one big night, the Road to Indy’s Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship will take to the track first. The Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires will follow while the return of Pavement Midgets and USAC Silver Crown Cars will end the night. There will be a $5,000 to-win purse for the Pavement Midgets and a $10,000 to win-purse for the USAC Silver Crown.

 

Thursday Night Thunder Homecoming (Thursday, June 17, 2021)

A well-known Lucas Oil Raceway event will return with a focus on celebrating the personalities and broadcasts that made the track a staple in living rooms across the country. The event also helped establish names like Gordon, Stewart, Newman, and Kahne into the vocabularies of racing fans everywhere. The special night will include a Pavement Midget $5,000 to-win purse and the return of Pavement Sprints with a $5,000 to-win purse.

 

Hoosier Classic (July 2021)

The weekend will feature three must-see races for open-wheel fans at Lucas Oil Raceway held in conjunction with the Brickyard 400 weekend. Friday night will kick off with Sprint Cars chasing a $10,000 to-win purse followed by Midgets competing for a $10,000 to-win purse and USAC Silver Crown chasing a $12,000 to-win purse on Saturday.

 

“We are fortunate to have great partners and groups to work with at Lucas Oil Raceway,” Coler added. “Bob Sargent and that team at Track Enterprises, Levi Jones and the team at USAC, Dan Andersen and the Road to Indy as well as Rick Dawson and Jared Owen at Anderson Speedway have been instrumental in coordinating the return of great pavement racing to Lucas Oil Raceway.”
