KODY SWANSON LEADS THE WAY IN PHOENIX COPPER CUP PRACTICE

Phoenix, Arizona.........Kingsburg, California’s Kody Swanson led the way in Friday’s USAC Silver Crown practice at Phoenix Raceway with a best lap of 25.450 seconds, translating to a 142.197mph one-lap average around the one-mile tri-oval.

Swanson bested the field of 17 and will try to beat Dave Steele’s one-lap track record of 25.317 in qualifying.  Swanson finished second in his last appearance at Phoenix in 2009.

Rounding out the top-five in overall practice times were Justin Grant, Bobby Santos, who posted the top speed in session one, Tanner Swanson and Aaron Pierce.

ProSource Qualifying begins at 2:40 Pacific Time Friday, which will set the lineup for the 100-lap main event that takes place at 3pm on Saturday, April 29.
