USAC MIDWEST THUNDER SPEED2 MIDGETS

Friday, May 14 at Limaland Motorsports Park (Lima, Ohio)

Lima, Ohio………The USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midgets return to action for the first points-paying race of the 2021 season this Friday night, May 14, at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio, for the Mike Streicher Memorial presented by Post Printing.

The event honors Streicher, the 1991 USAC National Midget driving champion and 2018 National Midget Hall of Fame inductee, who passed away unexpectedly in November of 2019 at the age of 62.

The USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midgets have made just four previous appearances at Limaland, all of which came back when the series was under the “Ford Focus” banner.  Winners include Jordan Noblitt (2003), Robbie Ray (2004), Ryan Smith (2005) and Chett Gehrke (2007).

Limaland’s reemergence on the series’ schedule arrives this weekend to honor the Ohioan who made his mark in several aspects of the sport and had an enormous impact on generations of individuals who have occupied the sport in the past and the present with a legacy in auto racing that will carry on well into the future.

The event also brings awareness to the scholarship fund created by the Streicher family and the University of Northwestern Ohio following his death.  More information on the scholarship fund can be found at www.unoh.edu/streichermemorial/streicher-memorial-form.pdf.

Tickets for Friday’s Mike Streicher Memorial are $12 for adults, $6 for kids aged 11-15 and children aged 10 and under are free.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.

Pits open at 4:30pm ET, grandstands open at 5pm, hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7:30pm.

 

USAC WINGLESS SPRINTS OKLAHOMA

Friday, May 14 at Red Dirt Raceway (Meeker, Oklahoma)

Meeker, Oklahoma………The Border War Challenge comes Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Oklahoma this Friday night, May 14 for USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma.

Two-time series champ Brett Wilson (Coweta, Okla.) captured the victory in last weekend’s season opening race at Oklahoma Sports Park.  Ty Hulsey (Owasso, Okla.) reigned victorious in the last showdown at Red Dirt in 2020 en route to the series title.

Pure Stocks, Sport Mod/B-Mods, Hornets/Tuners and Non-Wing Micros are also on the event card.

Gates open at 6pm CDT with the drivers meeting at 6:40 and racing at 7:30pm.  General admission tickets are $15.  High school students and younger are just $5 (must show student ID).  Kids 5 and under are free.  Pit passes are $30 (5 years and younger are only $10).

The tailgate area is $80 per carload (max of 8 people.  Everyone must be in the vehicle and only one ice chest per vehicle).

USAC RAPID TIRE EAST COAST SPRINT CARS PRESENTED BY CAPITOL TRAILERS

Friday, May 14 at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania)

Saturday, May 15 at Grandview Speedway (Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania)

The Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars presented by Capitol Trailers head into a doubleheader weekend in the Keystone State, starting on Friday, May 14, at Bedford Speedway and on Saturday, May 15, at Grandview Speedway.

Alex Bright (Collegeville, Pa.) won the series’ most recent action at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on April 10 and leads the standings coming into the weekend.

Three-time series champ Steven Drevicki (Reading, Pa.) won at Bedford in 2018 while Timmy Buckwalter was victorious at Grandview in 2019.

Friday at Bedford, Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinders are on the card.  Gates open at 5pm ET with hot laps at 7pm and racing at 7:30pm.  Grandstand admission is $15 while kids 12 and under are free.  Pit passes are $25 apiece.

Saturday at Grandview, Modifieds and Sportsman join in on the fun.  Pits open at 4pm ET, stands at 5:30pm and racing at 7:30pm.  Adult admission is $25 while children are just $10.  Pit passes are $35 apiece.

USAC ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS

Saturday, May 15 at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois)

Canton, Illinois………Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. is back on the docket this Saturday night, May 15, for the return of the USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets.

Mark McMahill (Peoria, Ill.) leads the standings based on his consistent finishes of 2nd, 3rd and 6th throughout the first three events of the season.  Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) and Jake Neuman (New Berlin, Ill.) have both won at Spoon River already this year.

DirtCar Street Stocks return to the Spoon, which is also Kids Bicycle Race Night.  Also on hand will be the DirtCar Modifieds, the DirtCar Pro Late Models, the E/B Mods and the DirtCar Hornets.

Pits open at 3pm CDT, grandstands at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  General admission tickets are only $10.  Kids 10 and under are free.  Adult pit passes are $30 each.  Pit passes for kids 10 and under are $20.

USAC WESTERN STATES MIDGETS & USAC WEST COAST SPRINT CARS

Saturday, May 15 at Petaluma Speedway (Petaluma, California)

The “mighty midgets” of the USAC Western States and the dirt slingin’ sprint cars of the USAC West Coast series will clash at Petaluma Speedway (Petaluma, CA) this Saturday, May 15.

Promoted by Rick Faeth, the event will also feature the WMR Western Midgets and 600 Micro Sprints.

The show will follow COVID-19 protocols and face coverings are required for people on the grounds.

Pits will open at Noon PDT, front gates open at 4pm, practice at 5pm and racing at “The Fastest 3/8 Mile Dirt Oval in Northern California” will begin at 6pm.

USAC EASTERN SPEED2 MIDGETS

Sunday, May 16 at Kentucky Motor Speedway (Whitesville, Kentucky)

A doubleheader awaits the USAC Eastern SpeeD2 Midgets this Saturday, May 15, at Veterans Motorplex in Greenbrier, Tennessee and on Sunday, May 16, at Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, Kentucky.

Three races featured three different winners in 2020 at Veterans Motorplex: Hunter Wise (Allentown, Pa.), Jessica Bean (Farmland, Ind.) and Bradley Swift (Nashville, Tenn.).

Chris Lamb (Colfax, N.C.) leads the standings following his victory in the season opener at Virginia’s Shenandoah Speedway on April 10.  Lamb won at Kentucky in 2016.  Hunter Wise won there in 2020.

On Saturday at Veterans Motorplex, the gates open at 10am CDT with practice from Noon-1:20pm; 2:12pm-2:30pm; and from 3:21pm-3:30pm.  Qualifying starts at 4:30pm with the non-winners trophy dash at 6pm and racing to follow with twin 30-lap features.

On Sunday at Kentucky, gates open at 1pm CDT, with practice at 2pm, qualifying at 3pm and racing at 4pm.
