CRA SPRINTS MAKE PETALUMA DEBUT SATURDAY

HANSEN TAKES SANTA MARIA 30-LAPPER

The Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint cars make their debut appearance at the Petaluma (Calif.) Speedway Saturday night and four drivers will contest the point lead. David Cardey, Mike Spencer, Blake Miller and Garrett Hansen are separated by just 26 points entering Saturday night’s race.

Hansen, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., passed new National Sprint Car Hall of Fame member Rip Williams on the sixth lap and led the final 25 laps of Saturday night’s 30-lap Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint race at Santa Maria Speedway. The win solidified Hansen’s number four point ranking as he wheeled the Roy Miller Freightlines/Sander Engineering Maxim/Chevy to the win, beating Spencer, Cardey, Danny Faria Jr. and Cory Kruseman.

All four of the point leaders have scored a feature win this season, but nobody has been able to repeat as a winner in the first eight races of the USAC/CRA calendar.

The 3/8-mile Petaluma oval is located at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds.
