OCTOBER 9TH PLACERVILLE EVENT IS CANCELLED; MIDGET RACE MOVED TO HANFORD

By Lance Jennings

OCTOBER 5, 2021... Placerville Speedway officials have announced that this Saturday’s (October 9th) “Prospector Pandemonium” featuring the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars, USAC Western States Midgets, and Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) Midgets has been cancelled. Local fire departments have been using the El Dorado County Fairgrounds for staging and storing equipment to assist fire in cleanup efforts for the area. This has made it impossible for the facility to host the event.

A few weeks ago, Petaluma Speedway had announced the cancellation of the Sunday, October 10th, event that showcased the same three series.

After the Placerville cancellation, USAC Western States Midget and USAC West Coast Sprint Car Director Stephanie Odom was looking for options. The USAC Western States and BCRA Midgets will now battle at Hanford’s Keller Auto Speedway this Saturday night. The Morrie Williams Memorial / Kenny Takeuchi Tribute will also showcase the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars and NARC King of the West 410 Winged Sprint Cars. For more information, visit kellerautospeedway.com.

The USAC West Coast and VRA Sprint Cars will clash at Ventura Raceway on Saturday, October 16th. D.J. Johnson (Stockton, CA) returned to West Coast action and will be crowned champion at the final point race. Jarrett Soares (Gilroy, CA) has earned Rookie of the Year honors after a hard fought battle with Jacob Tuttle and Brody Fuson. For more information, visit venturaraceway.com.
