SCHANK WINS "360" SPECIAL EVENT AT HANFORD

SCHANK WINS “360” SPECIAL EVENT AT HANFORD

 


Terry Schank Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif. won Saturday night’s 25th Annual “Cotton Classic” at Giant Speedway in Hanford, Calif., a special non-points event for USAC’s West Coast 360 Sprint Cars.


 


Schank passed Wes Gutierrez on lap 19 and led the final 12 laps to beat Peter Murphy, Danny Faria Jr., Jonathan Logan and Richard VanderWeerd. Andy Forsberg was the night’s fastest qualifier. Cody Myers led the first six laps, Logan led the next four and Gutierrez led eight.


 


USAC’s 2010 Western Coast 360 driving champion Craig Stidham finished 14th in Saturday night’s race.


 


Stidham is among USAC driving champions who will be feted during the December 3 USAC “Night of Champions” Annual Awards Banquet in downtown Indianapolis, Ind.
