Mike Spencer will try to remain undefeated in AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car competition this season when the series returns to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway Saturday night for the “Relay for Life Giveaway and Fundraiser.”

Spencer, of Temecula, Calif., won the series opener at Perris and added a 30-lap victory last Saturday night at Victorville (Calif.) Raceway Park. He sits 24 points ahead of David Cardey and Blake Miller in quest of a record fourth consecutive series championship.

Spencer trailed Bill Rose for the first 10 laps at Victorville, then took the lead in his Madera Produce/Grubstake Mini-Produce Maxim/Shaver and led the rest of the way to beat Cardey, Rickie Gaunt, Miller and Rose. Nic Faas was the fastest qualifier and ranks fifth in the new point standings.

No driver has ever started a USAC/CRA series with three straight victories. Cory Kruseman also won the first two in 2008.
