SPENCER-CARDEY DUEL CONTINUES SATURDAY AT THE SO-CAL FAIR!

SPENCER-CARDEY DUEL CONTINUES SATURDAY AT THE SO-CAL FAIR!

Defending Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Champion Mike Spencer and David Cardey continue their torrid battle for the 2009 series championship this Saturday at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. It’s opening night at the Southern California Fair and fireworks on the race track are sure to be part of the festivities.

Spencer holds just a one-point lead over Cardey in the latest standings, while Blake Miller and Garrett Hansen remain in title contention as well, just 27 and 38 points in arrears respectively.

Spencer has won the last two series races, giving him three victories for the year. One of Cardey’s two series wins this season came at Perris, while Miller and Hansen each have one victory apiece.

Former series champ Tony Jones of Norco, Calif. is also expected to figure in Saturday night’s spotlight. He’s trying to score his 20th career USAC/CRA victory, which would place him just one behind all-time series leader Damion Gardner, who has 21.
