STANBROUGH WINS "FIRST FINANCIAL BANK SPRINT CAR CLASSIC"

STANBROUGH WINS “FIRST FINANCIAL BANK SPRINT CAR CLASSIC”

Terre Haute, Ind……..Jon Stanbrough outlasted the field to win Saturday night’s 30-lap “First Financial Bank Sprint Car Classic” at the Terre Haute Action Track. Stanbrough emerged with the win after leading the final two laps in his Fox Racing DRC/Foxco. Chase Stockon led the first nine laps and Levi Jones led the next 17, then a flat tire thwarted Jones’ bid and put Jerry Coons Jr. in the lead on lap 27 but Coons ran short of fuel before the checkered flag. Cole Whitt finished second ahead of Robert Ballou, Dave Darland and Shane Hmiel. Darland’s finish leaves him only 25 points behind Jones in the new USAC National Sprint Car standings. Coons won the T.H.A.T. “”King of the Action Track” honors for 2009.
