EAGLE, KNOXVILLE, OSKALOOSA NEXT FOR AMSOIL SPRINTS

EAGLE, KNOXVILLE, OSKALOOSA NEXT FOR AMSOIL SPRINTS

Only 81 points separate the top four drivers in USAC’s AMSOIL National Sprint Car standings and with more than 200 points available in the next week any none of them could emerge as the new championship contender.

The series makes its first-ever trip to the Cornhusker State Friday night when it stops at Eagle Raceway near Lincoln, Neb. for the “Rumble in the Bull Ring” presented by Coors Light. The site of numerous USAC National Midget races through the years, the one-third-mile banked dirt oval has never played host to the USAC Sprints until now. The race kicks off three races in five nights in America’s heartland.

Sunday night’s Knoxville “Non-Wing Nationals” is at the venerable Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville, Iowa, home of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. Tuesday night’s Casey’s General Stores “Ultimate Challenge” presented by Don Lang’s Searsboro Telephone Company at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa offers participants much more than the “One Night Stand for 15 Grand!" Numerous other incentives have been arranged by race organizer Terry McCarl.

Defending four-time series champ Levi Jones holds a 38-point lead over Indiana Sprint Week king Chris Windom going into the three races, while Jon Stanbrough is 55 off the lead and Bryan Clauson is 81 back.
