CLAUSON RETURNS TO SPRINTS THIS WEEKEND; WEATHER PROVISIONS DISCUSSED

USAC National driving champion Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. returns to the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series this weekend for "Border Wars" races at Gas City, Ind. (Friday) and Rossburg, Ohio (Saturday).

Last week he competed in the Toyota Celebrity Race at the Long Beach Grand Prix and was fighting for the lead in the pro division three laps from the finish when he clipped a tire barrier, but recovered to finish.

If weather intervenes provisions have been made for rescheduling Friday’s race at Gas City to the following Friday, April 27.

“It’ll be nice to get back behind the wheel of my Sprint car at Gas City,” says Bryan. I still hold the one-lap track record from 2009 and would like to get back to victory lane.”

Chad Boespflug will sub for Darren Hagen in the Hoffman Auto Racing machine Friday and Hagen returns Saturday at Eldora. Boespflug is one of several drivers seeking their initial series victory, while the Hoffman’s continue to search for their record 80th.

Tracy Hines is also one to watch, aiming for his 42nd career triumph as the active leader.
