MADERA'S "HARVEST CLASSIC" SATURDAY; PERRIS CRA TOO

LARSON WIRE-TO-WIRE IN SILVER DOLLAR CLASSICS
The AMSOIL USAC/CRA and Western Classic Sprints are both in action this Saturday. Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway hosts Saturday night’s USAC/CRA “Glenn Howard Classic” while Madera (Calif.) Speedway hosts Saturday’s “Harvest Classic” for the Western Classics.
Mike Spencer leads the USAC/CRA standings while Tony Hunt sits atop the Western Classic and Western Classic Dirt points. Hunt locked up the Western Classic Dirt title last Saturday night at Chico, Calif. and could add his 10th USAC driving title at Madera as he leads Shauna Hogg by 13 points in the overall Western Classic standings.
Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, Calif. led all 20 laps to win last Saturday’s “Gold Cup” race at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Andy Forsberg, Hogg, Hunt and Mark Tabor Jr. trailed him to the checkered flag.
A Western Classic title for Hogg would be the first for the Fair Oaks, Calif. lady, while Hunt could make history with his 10th USAC driving title. The only driver is USAC history with more championships is A.J. Foyt, with 13.
Spencer’s USAC/CRA lead entering Saturday’s Perris race is a whopping 303 points as he continues his drive toward an unprecedented fifth consecutive series championship.
