JOHNSON WIRE-TO-WIRE IN “WESTERN WORLD” OPENER

Peoria, AZ……..R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. led all 30 laps of Thursday night’s opening Southwest/West Coast Sprint car feature of the 46th “Western World Championships” at Canyon Speedway Park. Johnson piloted the Bill Michaels Kodiak Products/Beal’s Auto Body Sherman/Marcum Ford to the victory over Brady Bacon, Jerry Coons Jr., Dave Darland and Aaron Reutzel. Johnson emerged from the race with a 104-point lead over Charles Davis Jr. in the Southwest point standings with two races remaining.
