USAC’s Southwest and West Coast Sprint Car series continue this week as R.J. Johnson (Southwest) and Danny Faria Jr. (West Coast) hope to continue their drive toward 2015 USAC championships.

Four races in four nights comprise this week’s “Freedom Tour” for Southwest competitors. Wednesday night’s race is at Lawton (Okla.). Speedway and Thursday’s race is at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. Friday and Saturday action moves to Kansas for races at 81 Speedway in Wichita and the finale at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Johnson enters the four races with a 64-point advantage over Charles Davis Jr. Johnson has won seven of the 13 races this year while Davis has a win among his five 2015 “podium” finishes. Johnson won at Lawton last year while Brady Bacon, Mike Martin and Mike Bonneau also scored 2014 “Freedom Tour” wins.

Faria takes a 120-point lead over Richard Vander Weerd into Saturday’s “Bud Stanfield Memorial” West Coast Sprint race at Santa Maria Raceway. Faria has 10 “podium” finishes in just 12 starts this season while Vander Weerd has a pair of wins this year, including one at Santa Maria. Faria was the fastest qualifier in the most recent Santa Maria outing, won by Tristan Guardino.
