AMSOIL SPRINTS AT LINCOLN PARK SATURDAY

SCHUERENBERG #1 AT GAS CITY; RAIN HALTS 2

Four drivers separated by only seven total points are poised to battle for the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car point lead Saturday when the series visits Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind.

Bryan Clauson leads by three over Hunter Schuerenberg and defending champ Levi Jones, with Damion Gardner fourth, just seven from first.

Schuerenberg, of Sikeston, Mo., earned his second career USAC feature victory in Friday night’s 30-lap AMSOIL USAC National Sprint car race at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway. He led wire-to-wire in his Fatheadz Eyewear/R & B Truckers Foxco to beat Chris Windom, Bryan Clauson, Mike Spencer and Bill Rose.

Saturday night’s race at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway was cancelled due to inclement weather and flooding issues in the city of Lawrenceburg, while Sunday night’s race at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway also fell victim to the weather. USAC and track officials are discussing possible rescheduling with the tracks affected.

Jon Stanbrough, currently fifth in the series standings, won one of the two USAC races at Lincoln Park last year. Dickie Gaines won the other.
