Findlay, Ohio (June 15, 2025)………Tyler Nelson raced from his 8th place starting position to score a USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget victory on Sunday night at Findlay, Ohio’s Millstream Speedway.
Nelson (Olathe, Kansas) picked his way through the field from the outside of the fourth row while Bryce Massingill and Luke Hall swapped the lead back and forth for much of the 25-lap main event.
Massingill led the opening 13 circuit before Luke Hall led the next three. Massingill surged back to the front to lead laps 17, 18 and 19. That’s when Nelson made his charge to the front past defending series champion Massingill on lap 20.
From there, Nelson paced the final six laps to earn his first career USAC Midwest Thunder victory in his own No. 91.
Nelson, who was also the VMS Motorsports Fast Qualifier, was followed to the line by Performance Powder Coating Hard Charger Jakeb Boxell who made a miraculous +21 charge from 23rd to 2nd! Matt Lux grabbed third with Gunnar Lucius fourth and Buddy Hollmeyer fifth.
