USAC NOS ENERGY DRINK MIDGET NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Formats may be altered from baseformats listed here at the discretion of the chief steward
Pill draw draftto determine order of heat race selection.
Heat raceplacement selection (driver picks which heat to participate in and the order toqualify in during a draft style event.
QUALIFICATIONS
All carsqualify – groups determined by heat race. Cars will qualify in the order pickedby drivers. 36 points will be given for fast time in each group and minus threepoints per position thereafter.
HEAT RACES
Six 10 lap Heat Races: Top 8 cars inverted in heats byqualifying points/time. 36 points will be given for first place and minus 3points per position thereafter. Four cars - first place (regardless of pointtotal) and the three highest in total points (total points include qualifyingand heat points) in each heat - transfer to the feature. All others will go to the semi-features.
SEMI-FEATURE:
Two 12-lapSemi-Features: Total points from qualifying and heat race finishes will be usedto line up the semi-features. Lineups will be straight up based on points. Thetop-two in total points will start on the pole in each respectivesemi-feature. The next two in totalpoints will start outside the front row in each respective semi-feature and soon. The top-two finishers from each semi-feature will transfer to the featurebut will not earn semi-feature points. 50 points will be awarded for thirdplace, minus two points for each position thereafter.
FEATURE:
30 Laps, 24Cars. First place and three highest inpoints from heat races, plus two transfers from each semi-feature. All cars, including semi-feature transferswill use total points to determine the feature lineup. The top-12 in total points will line upinverted. The lowest 12 in total points will be lined straight-up behind the 12inverted cars. In the feature, 100points will be awarded to first place and minus two points per positionthereafter.
MIDGET TIRE RULES:
Left Front: D12 or D15
Right Front: D12, D15 or D20
Left Rear: D12 or D20
Right Rear: SP3 only
**Right-rear tire will be stampedto be run during qualifications, heat race and feature.
**Changing tire will result inbeing put to the tail of feature. If atire is punctured, it must be verified by series official and replaced with aused tire.
