BRIGHT MAKES ALPHABET SOUP RUN TO THE TOP OF SMACKDOWN’S PASSING MASTER POINTS

Kokomo, Indiana (August 26, 2022)………Alex Bright’s alphabet soup run from the C-Main to the B-Main to the A-Main during Thursday’s Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Sprint Car Smackdown XI opener has paid dividends.

Picking ‘em off one-by-one has put the Collegeville, Pa. native atop the ProSource Smackdown Passing Master standings entering Friday night’s round two at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway.

Bright traveled from seventh to fourth to earn the final transfer spot in the Country Josh Conder C-Main.  Starting 16th in the Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Semi-Feature, the reigning USAC East Coast Sprint Car champion advanced 10 more positions to nail down the sixth and final transfer spot.  He then moved up one more spot a short feature run before dropping out, moving from 22nd to 21st.

Overall, Bright passed a total of 14 cars on Thursday, most among all drivers in the Smackdown field.  He leads the Passing Master standings over Littleton, Colorado’s Carson Garrett (11), Marion, Indiana’s Scotty Weir (10) and San Jose, California’s Thomas Meseraull (8), while Franklin, Indiana’s Emerson Axsom and Anaheim, California’s Jake Swanson round out the top-five with five passes apiece.

ProSource will reward the driver advancing the most positions in all the Smackdown XI mains with a $500 bonus at the end of the weekend.

On Friday, the gates open at 4pm Eastern with the driver’s meeting taking place at 6pm and hot laps beginning at 6:30pm, with qualifying and racing immediately following.  General admission tickets are $30 while kids 12 and under are free.  Pit passes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members.

On Saturday, the gates open at 4pm Eastern.  The driver’s meeting takes place at 5:30pm and hot laps begin at 6pm, with racing immediately following.  No qualifying will be held on Saturday.

Saturday’s general admission tickets are $35, kids 12 and under are free.  Pit passes are $40 for members and $45 for non-members.
