GENERATION NEXT "DIRT TRIPLE CROWN"

DEBUTS AT TERRE HAUTE THIS WEEKEND

It’s gonna get downright dirty this weekend in Terre Haute, Ind. as USAC’s 2012 Mopar .25 “Generation Next” Tour opens its “Dirt Triple Crown” with round one.

Hosted by the Terre Haute Quarter Midget Association, the racing program is the first on the dirt this year for the Mopar .25 Midget drivers and the first of three scheduled. Subsequent dirt-track events comprising the “Dirt Triple Crown” are scheduled June 15-17 at Hagerstown, Md. (The Mason-Dixon Shootout) and September 21-23 at Rossburg, Ohio (The 4-Crown Nationals) at Tony Stewart’s “Little E.”

Hulman Mini Speedway, named in memory of the late Tony Hulman, who becomes one of the inaugural USAC Hall of Fame inductees this May in Indianapolis, is located south of downtown, on the east side of 14th Street, just north of Interstate 70.

Initial practice is slated Friday from 5-8 pm. Practice commences at 9 am Saturday, followed by heats and lower mains. A-Mains are scheduled for Sunday, starting at 9 am.

Terre Haute has always been a special place for USAC and its participants and this weekend will be no different,” says USAC’s James Spink.” We’re just coming off a near-record car count on pavement in Nashville, Tenn. and we hope this weekend’s event is also indicative of the growth of our Mopar .25 operations. We look forward to a truly competitive event and a great battle for championships in the “Dirt Triple Crown.”
