OHIO PACES “LITTLE HOOSIER 100” WITH 7 WINNERS

 


Ohio led the winners list at Sunday’s second annual “Little Hoosier 100” USAC Mopar .25 Midget spectacular at Newton Park in Lakeville, Ind. Seven of the 15 class champions were Buckeye pilots.


 


Seth Crandall and Erika Newcombe of Pickerington, Ross Rankine of Willard, Caleb Cagle of Galena, Nathan McCauley of Millersport, Austin Nemire of Toledo and Cooper Clouse of Ohio City were the Ohio champs. Crandall took the Junior Honda title, while Newcombe won a 100-lapper in the Heavy 160 class. Rankine was tops in Senior Animal, Cagle won in Heavy Honda, McCauley was tops in Mod, Nemire won the B title and Clouse was the Heavy AA king.


 


A total of 160 competitors participated in the weekend’s events at the track adjacent to the Hoosier Racing Tire facility. Two-time USAC Hoosier Hundred Champion Tony Elliott of Warsaw, Ind. served as the Grand Marshal and participants were treated to a tour of the Hoosier Tire Company’s headquarters. Hoosier Tire founders Bob & Joyce Newton were also present for the opening ceremonies.


 


Indiana fielded four class champions, with Gage Walker of Maryland, Ind. walking off with top honors in Light World Formula and Light AA. Brooklyn Schneider of Seymour won the Junior Rookie feature and Brianna O’Bryan was tops in Senior Rookie.


 


Mark Miller of Mooresville and Katlyn Stanley of Concord gave North Carolina championships in Senior Honda and Heavy World Formula respectively. Miller’s Senior Honda victory came in a 100-lapper.


 


Tyler Clem of St. Petersburg, Fla. (Junior Animal), Chandler Smith of Fitzgerald, Ga. (Junior Stock) and Michael Atwell of Naples, Fla. (Light 160) also claimed “Little Hoosier 100” titles.
