FARIA ANNEXES “JIM EVETT MEMORIAL” AT KINGS

“Hollywood” Danny Faria Jr. can rest on his USAC West Coast Sprint Car point lead since the series will rest until a September 7 race at the Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway.

Faria led all 30 laps to win Saturday night’s “Jim Evett Memorial” at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. Faria piloted the Johnson Calf Pens/DeBoer & Sons Trucking Spike/Downing to the win over Richard Vander Weerd, Bud Kaeding, Marty Hawkins and Ryan Bernal.

Bernal trails Faria by 21 points entering the Bakersfield race. Bernal won at Bakersfield in April, while Richard Vander Weerd, fourth in the current standings, was the March Bakersfield winner.
