RAIN CLAIMS RACES AT KINGS & THUNDERBOWL

USAC’s West Coast and Western Classic Sprint cars combine again May 16-17 for back-to-back races at Watsonville and Tulare, Calif. after rains forced two cancellations this past weekend.

Last Friday’s “Verne Brasel Classic” at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. and Saturday’s race at Tulare fell victim to the elements.

Markus Niemela of Finland leads the West Coast points, while Geoff Ensign sits atop the Classic points entering the May races at Watsonville’s Ocean Speedway and Thunderbowl Raceway at Tulare.
