“BILL GARDNER SPRINTACULAR” SATURDAY AT LINCOLN PARK

Robert Ballou of Rocklin, Calif. continues his incredible 2015 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car season Saturday as the inaugural “Bill Gardner Sprintacular” unfolds at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. The race honors the memory of the late founder of the popular website IndianaOpenWheel.com.

Ballou has sprinted to a 24-point lead over Chase Stockon in the latest series standings as a result of seven victories in 16 starts so far. The single-season record for wins is 14 set by Tom Bigelow in 1977.

Third-ranking driver Dave Darland sits just 45 points behind Ballou and is seeking his 100th USAC National race victory (which includes Silver Crown, Sprint and Midget). He is the all-time USAC Sprint Car winner with 55 career wins to his credit.

Jerry Coons Jr., who is not currently in the “top-10” in points, captured last year’s Independence Day feature at Lincoln Park.

2015 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Standings: 1-Robert Ballou-950, 2-Chase Stockon-926, 3-Dave Darland-905, 4-Jon Stanbrough-832, 5-Brady Bacon-828, 6-Tracy Hines-762, 7-Kevin Thomas Jr,-753, 8-C.J. Leary-688, 9-Chris Windom-575, 10-Justin Grant-571.
