DMA MIDGETS MAKE INAUGURAL ALBANY-SARATOGA APPEARANCE FRIDAY

The USAC DMA Midget Series makes its inaugural trip outside Vermont this Friday to visit Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, N.Y. It will mark USAC’s second appearance ever at the 4/10-mile dirt oval. The first, in 1983, was a USAC National Midget race won by Gene Gennetten.

Friday’s race is round two of the Triple Crown Presented by New England Racing Fuel and DMA point leader Adam Pierson will be searching for his sixth victory of the year. He has a trio of seconds as well in his nine starts so far in 2015.

Mike Chaffee, Kenney Johnson and Josh Sunn also have wins this season. Chaffee halted Pierson’s five-race winning streak August 8 at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Sunn won the series opener and the most recent race at Bear Ridge last Saturday.

Pierson has a 42-point lead over Sunn in the latest standings in search of a second consecutive championship. The series concludes with three September races at Bear Ridge.
