Speedway, Indiana (July 13, 2020)………It’s been nearly a monthlong hiatus since the last round of USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget racing took place – the Indiana Midget Week finale at Kokomo Speedway, a barnburner won by Tanner Thorson.

The buzz from this year’s Indiana Midget Week has lasted ever since, and the continuation of said buzz carries the series into mid-America for the next four rounds of the 2020 season over this next week-plus, Friday, July 17 & Saturday, July 18, at Jefferson County Speedway in Fairbury, Neb.; Sunday, July 19, at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kans. and Tuesday, July 21, at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla.

Coming in, it’s Chris Windom (Canton, Ill.) who owns a 64-point advantage in the driver standings as he continues his ongoing pursuit of USAC’s coveted Triple Crown by winning all three National titles in a career.  The 2016 Silver Crown and 2017 AMSOIL National Sprint Car champion’s Tucker-Boat Motorsports team, likewise, leads the owner standings.

Windom has led a series-high 87 laps, and also leads all with 10 top-fives in 11 starts.  His 10 top-tens are equaled by impressive Rookie Buddy Kofoid (Penngrove, Calif.) who is 2nd overall in the points and leads the Rookie standings commandingly over Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports teammate Daison Pursley (Locust Grove, Okla.), who is one of seven drivers to make all 11 feature starts in 2020 along with Cole Bodine (Rossville, Ind.), Tanner Carrick (Minden, Nev.), Tyler Courtney (Indianapolis, Ind.), Kofoid, Cannon McIntosh (Bixby, Okla.) and Windom.

Courtney, third in the standings, leads all drivers with five heat race wins in 2020.  The defending series champ led the series in heat race wins in each of the past two seasons, eight in 2018 and nine in 2019.

Sutter, California’s Logan Seavey, 13th in the standings, has been the hard charger twice, tied with Kyle Larson for most with the series in 2020.  Seavey, the 2018 series champ, went 22nd to 8th at Paragon (Ind.) Speedway in June and made the biggest advancement of the year in May at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., 19th to 2nd.

For July 17-18 at Jefferson County, tickets are available now at www.JeffersonCountySpeedway.com.  The event will once again coincide with the Jefferson County Fair and will feature a free concert after the races both nights at the beer garden.

The Jayhusker Non-Wing Micros will join the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets both nights.  Gates open at 5pm CT, with qualifying at 6:30pm and racing at 7pm each night.

Adult general admission tickets at Jefferson County are $20 while high school students and younger are $5.  Reserved seating is $25 (available online only in two-day packages).  Only 1,200 tickets will be sold as the venue is limited to 75% capacity under state regulations.  All remaining tickets will be sold the day of show at the main grandstand gate starting at 5pm.  Pit passes will not be limited and will be available at the pit gate on the day of show only.

At Caney Valley, general admission tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and free for kids 12 and under.  Pit passes are $35 apiece.  Advance tickets are on sale at www.myracepass.com.  Pits open at 3pm CT, grandstands at 4pm and hot laps at 6:30pm with racing to follow.  The NOW600 Non-Wing Micros will also be in action.

For Red Dirt, the gates open at 5pm CT with qualifying at 7pm and racing to immediately follow.  Adult general admission tickets are $25.  High school students and younger are $5 (must show student ID).  Kids age 5 and under are free.  The tailgate area is $120 per carload (limit 8 and they must be in the vehicle and only one ice chest per vehicle).  Pit passes are $35 for adults, and $10 for children age 5 and younger.  The NOW600 Non-Wing Micros are also on the event card.

All four of these events can be seen LIVE exclusively on FloRacing.
