MIDWEST THUNDER SPEED2 MIDGETS

Friday, September 11: Gas City I-69 Speedway – Gas City, Indiana

This Friday night, Sept. 11, marks the fourth visit of the year to Indiana’s Gas City I-69 Speedway for the USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midgets, this time being a D2 only event.

The top-two in the standings, Jacob Denney and Adam Taylor, have previously won with the series at Gas City this season.  Point leader Denney (Galloway, Ohio) won in August while Taylor (Dwight, Ill.), 2nd in points, captured the glory in July.  Three-time and defending series champ Aaron Leffel (Springfield, Ohio), 5th in points, won at Gas City in June.

Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.) won the series’ most recent round last weekend at Atomic Speedway in Ohio.  He resides fourth in the standings behind Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio), who’s in fourth.

Pits open at 3pm ET, front gates at 5pm and hot laps at 6:30pm with racing to follow.  First responders and their families will be admitted for half price with proper identification.  Sprint Cars, UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets are also in on the action.

USAC WEST COAST SPRINT CARS

Saturday, September 12: Petaluma Speedway – Petaluma, California

This Saturday, September 12th, the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series will return to Petaluma Speedway for a special non-points event.

Promoted by Rick Faeth, the action-packed card will also feature Modifieds, WMR Western Midgets, and 600 Micro Sprints.

The Pit Gates will open at noon, the GRANDSTANDS ARE CLOSED, Practice starts at 5:00pm, and Racing at “The Fastest 3/8 Mile Dirt Oval in Northern California” will begin at 6:00pm.

 

ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS

Saturday, September 12: Spoon River Speedway – Canton, Illinois

Sunday, September 13: The Bullring at Rock Island County Fairgrounds – East Moline, Illinois

A double-race weekend is set for the USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12-13.

On Saturday, it’s onward to the series’ traditional stop at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. for the Aaron Hull Memorial. Bryan Stanfill (Brea, Calif.) has won each of the last two series races, including last weekend at Spoon River.  Stanfill took over the series point lead in the process and now heads the class by 38 points over Andy Baugh, the two-time and defending series champ Mason City, Ill.

On night two of the weekend on Sunday, The Bullring at Rock Island County Fairgrounds in East Moline, Illinois is the place be.  Brent Burrows (Lewistown, Ill.) captured the round there back at the beginning of August, one of his two victories this season.

Also on tap Saturday evening at Spoon River is the 34th running of the Tom Knowles Memorial featuring the MOWA Winged Sprint cars and POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series. Rounding out the field will be the DIRTcar Modifieds.  Pits open at 2pm CT, grandstands at 4pm and hot laps at 6pm.  General admission tickets are $25 with kids 10 and under free.  Pit passes are $40 apiece.

Sunday night at The Bullring in East Moline, IMRA Midgets are joined by Street Stocks, Sport Compacts, Vintage Late Models, Mod Lites, Sport Mods and Modifieds.  Pits open at 2pm CT, grandstands at 3pm and hot laps start at 5pm.  It’s First Responders Night with $2 off admission for first responders, healthcare workers and military.  General admission tickets are $12, reserved seats are $15, ages 9-15 are $8, ages 8 and under are free and Seniors are $10.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.  Pit passes for ages 7-15 are $15.  Pit passes for ages 6 and under are free.

EASTERN SPEED2 MIDGETS

Saturday, September 12: Dillon Motor Speedway – Dillon, South Carolina

For the 12th time, South Carolina’s Dillon Motor Speedway plays host to the USAC Eastern SpeeD2 Midgets this Saturday night, Sept. 12.

Sam Hatfield and Preston Lattomus each won features there last year with the series.  Two-time 2020 series winner Jessica Bean (Farmland, Ind.) leads the series by 17 points over Hunter Wise (Allentown, Pa.), who’s won the past two races on the schedule.  Chris Lamb (Colfax, N.C.), also a two-time winner, runs third in the standings and trails Bean by just 24 points.

Late Models, Super Trucks, The Challenger, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Mini Cups, Low Country Legend Cars and the Banger Division are also on the card.  Gates open at 10am ET with practice at 11:15am, qualifying at 3pm and racing at 5pm.  General admission tickets for adults are $12 with kids age 11 and under free.  Pit passes and hill parking are $25 each.
