RECORDS FALL AT THE ORANGE SHOW

IN THE ERNIE BOSE WORLD RECORD RACE

 


Two drivers with four-second bracket laps led an assault on World track records over the weekend in the annual “Ernie Bose World Record Race” activities at the Orange Show at San Bernardino, Calif.


 


Posting times in the four-second bracket and establishing new World records were Skyler Dale of La Cresta, Calif. and Dylan Attridge of Alta Loma, Calif. Dale’s 4.944 time set a new Class B mark, while Attridge set the new Mod mark at 4.980. Dale also led qualifiers with new records in Senior Honda and Light 160 classes, while Molly Putnam set new marks in Heavy Honda, Heavy 160 and Senior Animal classes. Anthony Doty new a new mark in Junior Animal and Berklee Jimenez set a new Light World Formula record. Keith Zimmerman of Torrance, Calif. also cracked the four-second bracket with a 4.842 fast time in the Light AA bracket.


 


Champions of Sunday’s featured races at the Orange Show were Dale (Senior Honda. Light 160 and B), Molly Putnam of West Hills, Calif. (Senior Animal and Heavy 160), Michael Fanelli of Rio Rancho, N.M. (Heavy World Formula and Heavy AA), Seth McDonald of Victorville, Calif. (Junior Rookie), John Navarro of Pico Rivera, Calif. (Senior Rookie), Drake Edwards (Junior Honda), Tiffany Rose of Chatsworth, Calif. (Heavy Honda), Doty of Highland, Calif. (Junior Animal), Daniel Williams of Glendale, Calif. (Light World Formula), Logan Heath of Florence, Ariz. (Junior Stock), Tyler Ankrum of Yucaipa, Calif. (Senior Stock), Attridge (Mod), Sal Rose of Chatsworth, Calif. (Junior Half) and Zimmerman (Light AA).


 


Dale also led Senior Stock qualifiers and Zimmerman was fastest in Light AA, while other fast qualifiers were Fanelli (Heavy World Formula and Heavy AA), Stevie Rogers (Junior Rookie), Ashley Coulston (Senior Rookie), Aiden Lange (Junior Honda), Heath (Junior Stock) and Sal Rose (Junior Half).


 


The racing program honored the memory of one of the sport’s greatest engine builders.
