SOUTHWEST AT QUEEN CREEK, WEST COAST AT HANFORD SATURDAY;

MARTIN WINS “BRAWL FOR IT ALL” AT CANYON

USAC’s Southwest and West Coast Sprint cars continue the 2015 season this weekend at separate venues after combining for last Saturday’s “Brawl for it All” at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.

The Southwest series competes this Saturday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., while the West Coast participants are gearing up for Saturday’s race at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, Calif.

R.J. Johnson enjoys a 61-point lead over Charles Davis Jr. in the latest Southwest Standings, while Danny Faria Jr. enters Saturday’s Hanford event with a sizeable 135-point West Coast lead over Richard Vander Weerd.

Mike Martin of Yuma, Ariz. captured Saturday night’s 4th “Brawl for it All” feature at Canyon. Wheeling the Sherwin Williams/Ultimate Offroad Maxim/Shaver, Martin was the last of four leaders who swapped the lead through seven lead changes in the 30-lap race, part of the “Grudge Series” for USAC Southwest and West Coast Sprint regulars. Martin passed Andy Reinbold on lap 27 and led the final four laps to beat Reinbold, Nick Aiuto, Chris Bonneau and Stevie Sussex. Sussex led 14 laps, Charles Davis Jr; led nine and Reinbold three before Martin took over.
