CLAUSON'S NDC LEAD HOLDS AT 22 AFTER TOLEDO

PERRIS OVAL NATIONALS NEXT - NOVEMBER 4-6

Neither Bryan Clauson nor Levi Jones were able to increase their USAC National Drivers Championship totals Saturday at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway and Clauson’s lead continues to hold at 22 points entering the November 4-5-6 Budweiser “Oval Nationals” Sprint car races at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Third-ranking Jerry Coons Jr., winner of Saturday’s “Rollie Beale 150” Silver Crown race at Toledo, opened the gap over fourth-ranking Tracy Hines to 31 points as a result of his victory. Hines was unable to increase his total with his 16th-place finish.

Coons’ victory leaves him just 59 behind Clauson and 37 behind Jones entering the final eight National events on the west coast in November.
