Holly Shelton remains the leader of B & W Auto Mart’s Indiana Midget Week Perseverance prize in honor of late USAC .25 Midget Series Director, Kyle McCain.

Sacramento, California’s Shelton gained four more points in Friday night’s feature at Bloomington Speedway after qualifying 15th and finishing 11th, yet her lead over race winner Tyler Courtney shrunk from nine to eight with two races remaining: Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway and Sunday at Kokomo Speedway.

Jerry Coons, Jr. (Q: 10th and F: 4th) and Gage Walker (Q: 13th and F: 7th) were the biggest movers at Bloomington with each earning six points apiece.

Points are awarded to the driver advancing the most positions during each night's feature from their original qualifying time. At the conclusion of the Indiana Midget Week finale Sunday, June 11 at Kokomo Speedway, the points will be tabulated and the driver with the most total points will earn the reward.

On the opening night at Montpelier Motor Speedway, Shane Golobic and Tanner Carrick each earned 11 points.  Golobic qualified 17th and finished 6th while Carrick qualified 23rd and finished 12th.

Wednesday night saw Oklahoma’s Chance Morton score 15 points with his 24th place finish following a 39th place qualifying run.   Morton was running as high as 12th in the feature when he flipped on the 19th lap of the 30-lap event.

At Putnamville’s Lincoln Park Speedway on Friday, Courtney tallied 22 points by finishing third after a 25th place qualifying run.
