JONES EYES GARDNER'S USAC/CRA RECORD SATURDAY AT THE PAS

Only nine drivers in USAC history have won more than four consecutive races in a single series. Tony Jones aims for his fourth consecutive USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature victory this Saturday night at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

In 170 previous USAC/CRA races, only Damion Gardner was able to string together four consecutive wins, in 2005. Gardner and Jones share the record for the most consecutive USAC/CRA wins at a single track, four, which Jones can break with his fifth consecutive Perris win Saturday. Gardner won four straight at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. from 2004-2006.

Billy Boat holds the all-time USAC record for consecutive wins in a single series, an incredible 11, set during the 1995 Western Midget Series! A.J. Foyt (Championship Cars, 1964) and Billy Vukovich III (Supermodifieds, 1987) hold the National record at seven. Larry Dickson won six straight in National Sprint Cars in 1968, while Rich Vogler won five straight National Midget races in 1978. Parnelli Jones (1964) and Norm Nelson (1965-66) also won five straight Stock Car races.

Jones ranks fifth in the USAC/CRA standings going into Saturday night's race. Mike Spencer is the series point leader but Blake Miller is only 63 behind, with 74 available Saturday.
