AMSOIL NATIONAL SPRINTS SLATED AT CANYON SPEEDWAY PARK

OCTOBER MIDGET RACE IN INDY CANCELLED

The 2011 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series is headed back to Arizona for October 28 and 29 races at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria.

Long a hot-bed of Sprint car racing, the Grand Canyon State has hosted numerous USAC Sprint races since their 1964 debut at the Arizona State Fairgrounds when Don Branson and A.J. Foyt were the winners.

The October 28 and 29 races will also afford points toward the 2011 AMSOIL USAC/CRA championship and active National and CRA drivers who already have posted USAC Sprint wins in Arizona include Bud Kaeding, Levi Jones, Jerry Coons Jr., Damion Gardner, Dave Darland, Cory Kruseman, Darren Hagen, Bobby East, Danny Sheridan and Shane Cottle.

The Sprint races will be USAC’s first at Canyon Raceway, located about 30 miles northwest of Phoenix.

In other USAC scheduling news, the Mopar National Midget race originally scheduled at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind. October 22 has been removed from the calendar due to scheduling conflicts.
