CLASSIC SPRINTS HEAD FOR MADERA SATURDAY

BRENT KAEDING WINS “HOWARD KAEDING MEMORIAL”

Shauna Hogg of Citrus Heights, Calif. will try to protect her 2012 USAC Western Classic Sprint Car point lead Saturday when the series visits the Madera (Calif.) Speedway for the “Gerhardt Classic.”

Hogg is 76 points ahead of Tony Hunt in the latest standings. Hogg finished eighth and Hunt seventh in last Friday’s “Howard Kaeding Memorial” at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif.

Brent Keading of Campbell, Calif. won Friday’s Watsonville 30-lapper held in memory of his father, leading all 30 laps of the “Howard Kaeding Classic” to beat Kyle Hirst, Eric Rossi, Cory Kruseman and Marty Hawkins.

The Sprint cars will be joined by the USAC Mopar Western Midgets and USAC Western Ignite Midgets for this Saturday’s salute to the Fresno, Calif. Gerhardt family.
