LAWRENCEBURG’S “FALL NATIONALS” SET TO UNFOLD SATURDAY

LAWRENCEBURG’S “FALL NATIONALS” SET TO UNFOLD SATURDAY

The final Midwestern appearance of the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car series occurs this Saturday night at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway. It’s the “Fall Nationals,” rescheduled from October 3 due to rain on the originally-scheduled date.

Rocklin, Calif. driver Robert Ballou enters Saturday’s race with a slim 25-point lead over Chase Stockon, while third-place Dave Darland looms just 35 points back of the leader with 74 points available Saturday. Ballou and Stockon are seeking their initial USAC championships, while Darland won the 1999 title and is one of five USAC “Triple Crown” champions.

Ballou has 10 victories already this season and seeks his first 2015 Lawrenceburg victory after finishing third in April and second in July. April winner Logan Jarrett is expected to return to the series Saturday and July winner Brady Bacon is also expected to be in the field as the series concludes its Midwestern slate prior to a half-dozen final races on the West Coast next month.

The series concludes November 12-14 and 19-21 with races at Perris, Calif. and Tucson, Ariz. respectively.
