CARDEY WILL GO FOR 4-IN-A-ROW AT PERRIS JULY 31

David Cardey of Perris, Calif. will try to score his fourth consecutive AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car win at Perris Auto Speedway July 31 when the series returns to the half-mile dirt oval. The only other driver to accomplish that feat was Tony Jones, who won four in a row in 2008.

Cardey scored his third consecutive Perris Auto Speedway feature victory Saturday night, fighting off Cory Kruseman and Nic Faas to win the “Firecracker 30” in his Circle Track Performance Viper/Picks special. Faas took second ahead of Kruseman, series point leader Mike Spencer and fast qualifier Matt Mitchell. Kruseman led 13 of the first 20 laps but Cardey got past him on lap 21 and led the rest of the way for the win.

Spencer’s point lead stands at 51 points over Danny Sheridan, who finished sixth Saturday night.
